and rollbackAfter so it does not treat rollbackAfter as a rollback after the
transaction is already done; clarify the contract to reflect that rollback
cannot be guaranteed after commit failure, and add a test covering commit
failure without asserting that the driver receives a rollback call.
- Line 30: Update InTx to track whether the body callback returned normally, and
commit only in that case; if it did not return, roll back even when recover()
and err are nil, as can happen with runtime.Goexit or t.Fatal.

Commit only after the callback returns.
If the callback calls runtime.Goexit—including through t.Fatal—the defer runs with recover() == nil and err == nil. InTx therefore commits work from a callback that did not finish. Track whether body returned, and roll back when it did not. (go.dev)

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift
Do not claim that this path rolls back a failed commit.
When the driver's commit returns an error, database/sql has already marked tx done. rollbackAfter then receives sql.ErrTxDone; it cannot call the driver's rollback method. This does not meet issue #80’s rollback-on-commit-failure requirement. The commit-failure test expects only "begin", "commit", so it does not establish that rollback occurred. Clarify the contract if a plain *sql.Tx cannot provide the required guarantee, or use a transaction mechanism that can provide it. (go.dev)
